Zero Net Energy Retrofit Project at The Domes: Interim Performance Assessment & Verification

Project Number ET12PGE1442 Organization PG&E End-use Whole Building, Water Heating/DHW/HPWH, HVAC, Lighting Sector Residential Project Year(s) 2012 - 2014
Description
The project’s objective is to identify scalable, deployment-ready technologies that can hasten the transition to zero net energy homes in PG&E territory. Four of a total of fourteen existing residential structures, the Domes, at UC Davis were retrofitted with energy efficiency improvements including ground source heating and cooling systems, LED lights, basic envelope improvements and a shared domestic how water system. Once outdoor air temperatures begin to drop and the final three months of data is collected, the project team will update the performance analysis, revise the conclusions, and release a final report.
