Ultramizer - Transport Membrane Condenser

Project Number ET08SCG0010 Organization SoCalGas End-use Process Sector Industrial Project Year(s) 2009 - N/A
Description

Project Summary

A technology assessment on an advanced heat recovery system is being conducted at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Thousand Oaks. The project is a collaborative effort between Research Development and SCG Emerging Technology Program. The technology enhanced boiler efficiency up to 98% by recovering energy from flue gas. The energy is recovered in three stages: high pressure economizer, low pressure economizer, and transport membrane heat recovery. Membrane heat recovery extracts water vapor from flue gas through nano-porous tube and supplements the recovery water for boiler make up water.
