Seasonal Savings and Peak Aware Program Impacts

Project Number ET16PGE8041 Organization PG&E End-use HVAC Sector Residential Project Year(s) 2016 - 2019
Description

The project objective was to provide independent evaluation of the Nest Labs (Nest) 2017/18 Summer and Winter Seasonal Savings Impacts Reports for the PG&E Emerging Technologies study, with a goal to evaluate the savings potential of Nest Labs Seasonal Savings and Peak Aware programs for Nest Labs customers who reside in select PG&E geographic regions. Cadmus leveraged methodology established by KEMA/DNVGL in the validation of the Seasonal Savings Program for Southern California Gas and Marin Clean Energy, commissioned by the CPUC Energy Division. The Peak Aware validation covered new material while following the same process. Cadmus analized all data necessary to replicate Nest Lab’s analysis of thermostat savings and demand reduction, including Stata code, 2017/18 Summer and Winter Seasonal Savings Impacts Reports, and any applicable data.

In addition to the Cadmus evaluation report, also attached are reports produced by Nest that provide an analysis of the summer and winter impacts.
