Restaurant Water Heating Retro-Commissioning

Project Number PGE 0729 Organization PG&E End-use Process Sector Commercial Project Year(s) 2007 - 2008
Description

Project Summary:

The hot water load represents a significant portion of the gas consumption in a commercial food service operation, with an opportunity for gas savings. The objective of this field study was to investigate several water-heating system retro-commissioning measures and quantify their gas saving potential. The retro commissioning measures included re-instating the operation of the flue damper, adding insulation to accessible un-insulated hot water lines and installing a time clock on the circulation loop pump.
