Project Summary

This project evaluates if residential customers will welcome controlling their programmable communicating thermostats (PCTs) via the internet, if they think on-line control is better than other control methods, and if they think it will save them more energy dollars. In addition, the project provides a better understanding of usage patterns and the opportunity to remotely reduce demand during peak periods through addressable thermostat technology.
