ET22SCE0001 - Refrigerant heat harvesting for process and sanitary water / steam generation demonstration and performance evaluation

Project Number ET22SCE0001 Organization SCE End-use Process Loads Sector Industrial Project Year(s) 2021 - 2023
Description
The proposed project is an extension of an existing SCE EP project being implemented that is designed to enhance grid reliability, replace high GWP refrigerants with ammonia and/or carbon dioxide, improve efficiency, process optimization, and achieve decarbonization goals at a large bakery site. The proposed SCE Idea implementation is focused on evaluating and applying underutilized (M-HTHP) to take advantage of: 1) free energy from low GWP refrigeration waste heat and 2) deliver a substitution option for traditional boilers.
