Quick Assessment: Golf Club Cluhouse and Parking Advanced Lighting

Project Number ET12SCE1970 Organization SCE End-use Lighting Sector Commercial Project Year(s) 2012 - 2012
Description
This is a paper assessment of a site with diverse and plentiful opportunities for energy savings through the application of advanced technologies among its lighting and mechanical systems. The project is aimed at identifying the potential energy efficient opportunities with special focus in lighting. This analysis will setup the appropriate technologies to install and evaluate.
Project Results
This report analyzes the lighting, mechanical and environmental systems and conditions at Eagle Glen Country Club. Existing facilities and the surrounding site were surveyed and conditions are documented herein. There are significant environmental (reducing greenhouse gases and carbon footprint) and economic benefits to be achieved in sound management of the clubhouse and facilities. The clubhouse and associated member facilities use water, electric and gas energy, and produce waste in the process. The design and positioning of these facilities can have a significant impact on energy use through cooling and lighting. In addition, the intent is to address water conservation issues, including smart water sensors coupled with the sprinklers to minimize water usage. This report analyzes the quality, performance and efficiency of the existing lighting (efficiency, and because new measures last much longer than existing ones, reducing the non-hazardous waste stream), heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), and water distribution systems. The document also includes recommendations for use of advanced and emerging lighting technologies that will reduce energy consumption and improve lighting quality and performance. Furthermore, the report provides recommendations for energy efficient electric and mechanical equipment as well as improvements to the environmental infrastructure.
