Overgeneration Pilot Phase 1-Feasibility & Outreach

Project Number DR16.01 Organization SCE End-use Whole Building Sector Industrial Project Year(s) 2016 - 2018
Description
Water districts prove to be flexible in their demand and very successful in the load modifying incentive program of DR. Water districts in the SCE Auto-DR program have utilized the incentive programs to enable better control over their energy consumption. This, together with the large horsepower pumps served by multiple service accounts, provides substantial relief to the grid. Water districts have actively participated during past DR events when the demand for energy was reaching the supply to California’s energy grid. In fact, SCE’s Auto-DR program incentivized over 200 SA’s across 25 water district customers, totaling over 28MWs of load shed between the years of 2012 and 2015. Water districts have historically been very active in participation with SCE incentive programs, taking advantage of the utility offerings such as the DR incentive programs.
