Description
Develop, test and demonstrate an open-source, add-on, advanced heat pump load control system for both water heating and space conditioning that does all of the following: 1. Responds to hourly or sub-hourly price and demand response signals to minimize cost and grid impacts 2. Optimizes energy use based on marginal GHG emission data 3. Optimizes energy use based on building owner/occupant preferences, and 4. Provides reliable and cost-effective load flexibility as a grid resource.
