Project Info COMPLETE Project Title

Linear LED Signage

Project Number ET 06.17 Organization SCE End-use Lighting Sector Commercial Project Year(s) 2006 - 2009
Description

Project Summary

The Linear LED lighting system is very similar in brightness, color, and glow to neon. However, it is much more durable, has longer life, and uses much less electricity than neon. The linear LED lighting system is comprised of mostly translucent plastic composite materials. This material is formed into a strand that is similar in size to neon lights. The translucent plastic is lit up by LEDs that cause the solid translucent material to glow as evenly and brightly as neon, but without the heat, frigility, and danger of neon.
