Laboratory House Test of Smart Damper Control Systems to Provide Zoning

Project Number ET16PGE1991 Organization PG&E End-use Other, Whole Building, HVAC Sector Residential Project Year(s) 2016 - 2017
Description

The technology to be evaluated is an automated, smart, internet connected zone control system for residential HVAC. This first phase of a two phase project will complete lab tests to verify that the zone control system can regulate comfort while not degrading overall system efficiency, while also complying with Title 24 HVAC equipment acceptance rules. Based on initial findings, a potential Phase II project will involve field testing with a sample size to identify statistically significant energy savings in a variety of climate zones.
