Indirect Evaporative Cooler Performance Evaluation

Project Number PGE 0402 Organization PG&E End-use HVAC Sector Residential Project Year(s) 2004 - N/A
Description

Project Summary

An indirect evaporative cooling technology has been developed and produced on a small scale under the brand name Coolerado Cooler. This project will purchase a single unit of an equivalent size to a 3 ton air conditioner (the average size installed in CA homes) and conduct performance testing under laboratory conditions that simulate the hot dry California climate. The testing will determine if the indirect technology can deliver the claimed cooling capacity and energy efficiency and has potential to replace conventional refrigerant air conditioning.
