Hot Dry Climate Air Conditioner Pilot Field Test

Project Number PGE 0603 Organization PG&E End-use HVAC Sector Commercial, Public, Other, Industrial, Residential Project Year(s) 2007 - 2007
Description

Project Summary

Air conditioning (AC) is the primary cause of peak electrical demand during California’s hot summers. This project evaluates air conditioners that perform better in hot dry conditions, resulting in reduced peak loads at critical times. The field test compared the performance of standard and emerging technology hot dry machines on the same buildings by direct equipment monitoring in two stages. The first stage examines the standard new ACs; the second stage focuses on hot dry ACs. For more information, please contact the sponsoring organization.
