GAHP Performance Mapping 2 with H2

Project Number ET24SWG0010 Organization SWG (Statewide Gas ETP) End-use Water Heating/DHW/HPWH Sector Cross Cutting Project Year(s) 2024 - N/A
Description
This study aims to characterize the hydrogen fuel blending performance (up to 30% blend) of a second Gas Absorption Heat Pump (GAHP) to sufficiently populate model inputs in EnergyPlus. Gas Technology Institute (GTI) Energy will serve as a contractor for this study. They will develop a test plan including instrumentation, plumbing, and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and testing tolerances. Additionally, they will carry out equipment commissioning according to the manufacturer's rating conditions and laboratory testing. The testing will consist of both static performance mapping and transient performance mapping. At the completion of the testing, GTI will generate curve fits and implement them in the Energy Plus GAHP model.
