GAHP Peformance Mapping 2

Project Number ET24SWG0003 Organization SWG (Statewide Gas ETP) End-use Water Heating/DHW/HPWH Sector Cross Cutting
Description
This study aims to characterize the performance of a second Gas Absorption Heat Pump (GAHP) unit to sufficiently populate model inputs in EnergyPlus. Gas Technology Institute (GTI) Energy will serve as a contractor for this study. They will develop a test plan including instrumentation, plumbing, and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and testing tolerances and the commission the unit to carry out all equipment commissioning according to the manufacturer's rating conditions and laboratory testing. The testing will consist of both static performance mapping and transient performance mapping. At the completion of the testing, GTI will generate curve fits and implement them in the Energy Plus GAHP model. Note that this project aims to add additional performance mapping curves to the EnergyPlus GAHP model by experimentally testing a different manufacturer's GAHP unit.
