Description

The purpose of this report is to examine the impact of the available financing options and training on driving customer action towards implementing energy efficiency projects.  The Energy Efficiency Finance Team at PG&E aimed to assess a technological solution to addresses three potential barriers to increased customer uptake of energy efficiency: customers may not know of energy efficiency improvements’ financial benefits; customers may not know how financing can make energy efficiency projects more affordable by removing upfront costs; and customers may struggle to find affordable, accessible financing.

This study provides a preliminary evaluation of the effectiveness of a pilot program conducted by the PG&E Energy Efficiency Finance Team from June 2015 through May 2016. The pilot program tested the ability of a package of software, financing support and training to drive commercial energy efficiency improvement projects.
