CARB, NASRC and SCE M&V Evaluation of Low GWP Supermarket Refrigeration Systems

Project Number ET21SCE1010 Organization SCE End-use Process Loads Sector Commercial Project Year(s) 2021 - 2025
Description
The legislature awarded the California Air Resources Board (CARB) one million dollars in the 2019-2020 budget to create the SB 1013 Fluorinated Gases Emission Reduction Incentive Program, or F-gas incentive Program (FRIP). FRIP seeks to alleviate the barriers to the adoption of climate-friendly technologies, namely the higher incremental cost and lack of familiarity. Funding is restricted to existing and planned retail food facilities, which are among the largest sources of high global warming potential (GWP) F-gas emissions. As part of the effort for encouraging end-user adoption of new technologies, EP&T will confirm the new systems that will be installed are more energy efficient.
