Alternative Technology for Automated Demand Response (Auto DR)

Project Number DR 07.10 Organization SCE End-use Other Sector Commercial Project Year(s) 2007 - 2008
Description

Project Summary

This project evaluates the efficacy of new Automated Demand Response (AutoDR) technology to enhance two-way data exchange before, during, and after a demand response (DR) event. These AutoDR technologies focus on large commercial and industrial customers.  The two-way data exchange is accomplished through existing building energy management and control system (EMCS) infrastructure and by developing intelligent interfaces to respond to a AutoDR signal, which result in shedding customer load consistent with existing AutoDR applications and protocols.
