-

TRIO Symposium, Mission Bay Conference Center, September 25, 2012 The TRIO Symposium is an educational event for new and aspiring entrepreneurs in the Energy Efficiency and Demand Response marketplaces. At the Symposium, representatives from California’s electric and gas utilities will explain opportunities entrepreneurs can leverage to grow their businesses, including:

California’s incentive and rebate programs:

  • Speakers will describe the central role California’s utilities play in administering California’s multi-billion energy efficiency and demand response rebate and incentive programs. These regulator-mandated, ratepayer-funded programs help build the marketplace for energy efficiency (EE) and demand response (DR) technologies in California.
  • Discussion will highlight how new and aspiring entrepreneurs can engage California’s utilities to be considered for inclusion in these EE and DR programs. Companies whose products are included in these programs have access to huge markets they can leverage to grow their businesses.

California’s emerging technology programs:

  • Speakers will explain the resources California’s regulators have dedicated to fostering emerging EE and DR technologies in the state, and the role California’s utilities play in administering these funds.
  • Discussion will explore opportunities for entrepreneurs to mature their new technologies leveraging these funds, for example through utility-coordinated technology assessments and field tests.
