Recently, Google announced Home, a product designed to compete directly with the Amazon Echo. With two giant companies like Google and Amazon making major investments in home hubs, and given Amazon’s success already, we may be seeing what the centerpiece of the connected home will look like in the years to come. And if that’s the case, it could mean more order in the historically wild smart home space, which may translate to wider consumer adoption and energy savings. Time will tell.
